Although raised in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, South Africa, some of Yvette’s fondest memories are of vacations spent far away on her grandfather’s farm in the foothills of the Drakensberg. Hiking through the mountains and sleep-outs beneath the shimmering stars helped to instill in her the love of Africa’s wildness that she shares with her clients today.
After a decade working in the local wine industry, Yvette moved to the United States and began her career in travel. She has since traveled extensively all over Africa and become a seasoned safari specialist. She considers herself the first “guide” on her clients’ journey to Africa, and derives the greatest pleasure from hearing them share their experiences upon their return. “There is nothing like seeing Africa through their eyes,” she says. “It’s like going on safari for the first time again.”
Yvette is a Certified Travel Associate and Africa Destination Specialist of the Travel Institute, and former president of the national Association for Promotion of Tourism to Africa (APTA)
