Your itinerary begins on arrival in Arusha, where you will enjoy an evening at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, an excellent spot for relaxing and adjusting to African time.  Then your Tanzanian safari begins in earnest,  with 4 nights in the Northern Serengeti, at Serengeti Bushtops, where you may have the opportunity to witness  the world's greatest wildlife phenomenon, the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra, as well as enjoying the area's outstanding resident game.   For an extra thrill, take a hot air balloon excursion for a bird's eye view across the landscape (at an additional cost which must be pre-booked) After a flight from the Serengeti to Manyara airstrip, and continue on to Entamanu, also an excellent location from which to visit the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  The caldera formed by this extinct volcano is home to rich landscapes and the largest population of permanent wildlife anywhere in Africa; you'll enjoy a picnic lunch during your visit.   In addition to a day in the crater, guests can enjoy a rim walk or Maasai cultural visit. Finally, you will journey to Chem Chem Lodge, in the heart of Tarangire for a 3 night stay, enjoying game viewing in Tarangire National Park and on the private concession.

Rwanda – Land of a Thousand Hills

Following your arrival into Kigali, and an overnight to adjust to Africa time, your itinerary begins with a tour of Kigali including the Genocide Museum, offering you insight into Rwanda's turbulent history as well as a cultural visit during your full day in the city. Then your safari begins in earnest as you travel to Rwanda's Akagera National Park, home to the country's savannah-adapted species. Stretching across a vast expanse of low-lying mountains and savannah plains, the park takes in the rolling highlands woodlands, swamp-fringed lakes, and wetlands of the Kagera River along the way.  You'll have sightings of crocodiles and hippos wallowing in the park's watery basins. On twice daily game drives during your 3 nights at Magashi Camp you will see lion, leopard, elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and other animals roam across its grassy plains and acacia forests.  Following an overnight in Kigali, your adventure continues as you journey south, with a stop at the King's Palace, to Nyungwe, a vast area of mountain rainforest, and home to owl-faced and colobus monkeys as well as Rwanda's chimp population.  You'll spend a morning trekking chimps through the forests.  The region is also home to over 300 species of birds of which about 26 are endemic to the Albertine rift.  Take in the incredible sightings during your chimp trek and canopy walk or from the comfort of your room during your 2 night stat at Nyungwe House. A 2.5 hour drive will bring you to the shores of Lake Kivu for a relaxing overnight at the Serena. Then follows a gorgeous 3 hour drive to the Virungas which will certainly lift your spirits, and they will be soaring by the time you check into your lodge for the final 3 nights of your itinerary in Volcanoes National Park. There, in the same rainforest that Dian Fossey had her experiences with Gorillas, you will get up close and personal with the rare mountain gorilla. It is a truly incredible experience and you will remember it for ever. Return to the lodge for a well earned rest and chat to your fellow adventurers around a warm fire for a sundowner drink.  The following day, enjoy a golden monkey trek and observe the antics of the family groups - they are very playful.   Optional cultural visits are possible in the afternoon. Your Rwandan itinerary concludes as you travel back to Kigali International Airport for your journey home.

Sabi Sands, Victoria Falls and the Lower Zambezi

Southern Tanzania

Enjoy an itinerary that encompasses some of the country's most remote wildlife destinations and the opportunity to enjoy a quieter, more traditional safari experience in a more untamed Africa. This 11 night itinerary begins in the country's vibrant capital on the shores of the Indian Ocean. From there continue to Ruaha, Tanzania’s largest national park. This vast landscape, about the size of New Jersey, is home to ten percent of Africa’s lions and the region's highest population of elephants, in a landscape dotted with baobabs, palm trees and kopjes. Enjoy sightings of some of the most striking antelope - greater kudu with their vast spiralling horns, or perhaps roan and sable. Wild dog and leopard are also regularly spotted. The next stop is Katavi, home to large animal herds, including Cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and elephant. The dry season and the resulting mudholes make for an entertaining sight, as they can be packed with hundreds of hippos. The itinerary ends in the Selous Game Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Africa’s largest game reserve - roughly three times the size of the Serengeti. Its lush landscapes are dominated by the river and a chain of lakes that make for excellent wildlife watching. As a reserve rather than a national park, it allows walking safaris, boat trips and fly-camping as well.

Gorillas in the Mist (Mahogany Springs)

This 5 day Uganda Gorilla Safari starts with an overnight in Entebbe. The following day you will fly to Kihihi the closest airstrip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Botswana Wilderness

Botswana is a peaceful and prosperous country, home to vast game reserves where some of the largest herds in southern Africa roam free, together with the most spectacular and varied bird life. This 8 day luxury Botswana safari covers all the highlights of this fantastic wildlife region: Savuti, Kwetsani (Jao concession) and Chitabe. Start your journey in Kasane and your first three nights will be at Savuti located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. It is situated close to the source of the Savute Channel on Osprey Lagoon, one of the many lagoons within the Linyanti Swamp system, and between two elephant ‘corridors’ – all of which results in a plethora of wildlife on game drives along the Savute. Next stop, travel by charter flight to Kwetsani, one of the most remote camps in the entire Okavango Delta, located on an elongated island covered with palm, mangosteen and fig trees. The surrounding floodplains are home to a number of “Delta specials” – species that are found in few other places on Earth. Some of these may even be seen from the privacy of one of the five “tree-house” chalets, beautifully furnished en-suite units each comprising a bedroom and lounge, and made of canvas, wood and glass. Your final stop will be Qorokwe Camp so you will take a charter flight to the heart of the Okavango Delta and spend 3 nights at Qorokwe Camp. This 10 day private safari is a long time client favorite, perfect for families or a group of friends. Accommodations are comfortable and in the best safari locations across northern Tanzania. The safari starts with 2 nights in Tarangire, a day in Lake Manyara and 2 nights at the Ngorongoro Crater before moving on to spend a final fantastic 4 nights in the Serengeti. You will be accompanied by a highly trained guide/naturalist/driver for the duration of your safari so you have the full benefit of an on-going relationship and education with your guide. Your safari begins in the Sabi Sands for 4 nights, an area of private reserves including Savanna Private Game Reserve, with unfenced borders to the Kruger National Park.
