Your safari begins with a breathtaking three nights of wildlife viewing in Botswana at Muchenje Safari Lodge.  Situated on the more exclusive western area of Chobe National park, Muchenje offers unique, prolific game experiences within this quieter region. From there, you will have a gentle break from the bush with two nights at Victoria Falls.  The Palm River Hotel, is a wonderful property from which to explore the area and the world famous Victoria Falls!  Your safari adventures will continue in Hwange National Park, with its stellar wildlife.  During your three night stay at Khulu Bush Camp,  you have the opportunity to spend time at the Painted Dog Research Centre.  The painted dog (or African wild dog), once truly endangered, are seeing their numbers grow thanks to conservation efforts – watching their playful interactions and hunting strategies is a unique experience.  Your itinerary will end with two nights at Amalinda Lodge in the stunning and spiritual Matobo Hills, where you can enjoy some wonderful activities including mountain biking, rhino tracking and a visit to the final resting place of Cecil Rhodes.

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park which is renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. Muchenje is a 5 minutes drive from the Ngoma Gate of the Chobe National Park. Game Drives use this gate to enter and explore the Western side of the Chobe River. The drives explore the river road and woodland areas that are adjacent to the river, which host a myriad of species. The Chobe flood plains provide an important food source for thousands of animals during the winter (June – November) and witnessing this prolific wildlife is a safari goers dream. Along with the immense diversity of species of plains game, is an impressive number of predators that also rely on this prolific game activity. Game Drives along the Chobe are rarely uneventful, and during our winter months is a wildlife extravaganza.

Hwange National Park provides a sanctuary for all the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the most sizeable surviving groups on the continent. The park’s magnificent terrain ranges from desert dunes, savannah lands and mopane woodlands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests. Khulu Bush Camp “Grandfather” is located on a private concession of 6,000 acres.
One of the many charms of this camp is that it offers guests luxurious and private accommodation accompanied with old world hospitality.
Khulu comprises of 6 bespoke, thatched, safari style suites built onto slightly elevated platforms. Each well-appointed room is designed in a modern and contemporary style but has minimal impact to the surroundings and environment.The units have an indoor and outdoor shower and balcony for game viewing. The camp currently has a total capacity of only 12 people. All rooms overlook an ancient riverbed, the waterhole in this riverbed is known to attract a variety of the greatest wildlife and birdlife in Hwange. Khulu’s main area provides a full bar which also commands view of the waterhole and has in stock a variety of local and imported beverages.There is a plunge pool as well as a fire pit for stargazing and night caps.
